This family restaurant and breakfast/brunch spot is a true gem for locals and travelers alike, serving up a diverse menu that perfectly balances homestyle comfort food with a touch of Southern charm.

Their culinary offerings read like a Southern love letter, with specialties such as Fried Green Tomatoes that are crispy, tangy, and perfectly seasoned, and the classic Pecan Pie that delivers a rich, nutty sweetness straight from Aunt Louise's secret recipe. The menu is expansive and thoughtfully crafted—don’t miss the sumptuous Frozen Beef Pot Roast or the Paradise Pie, both soulful dishes that speak to the heart of southern cooking.

For those craving hearty breakfast classics, the Paul Bunyan Breakfast, loaded with savory goodness, and the Chicken Fried Steak with eggs will satisfy any appetite. The Southern favorites shine especially brightly here, with the Hamburger Steak made from a juicy 10 oz ground chuck patty smothered in grilled onions and brown gravy, served alongside freshly baked cornbread or fluffy biscuits. Beyond entrees, their singular sides like Sweet Potato Fries, Turnip Greens, and Louisiana-style Red Beans and Conecuh Sausage showcase the region’s rich agricultural bounty with every bite.

Dessert lovers will be enchanted by the handmade pies—each crafted with care and inspired by Alfredo’s mom, Conchita. The Double D Sundae combines decadent chocolate cake and creamy vanilla ice cream drenched in chocolate sauce for a sumptuous finale that’s just begging to be shared.

The atmosphere at Time To Eat Café is a cozy blend of family-friendly and nostalgic, highlighted by an intriguing collection of clocks that adorn the walls, offering a comforting sense of timelessness. Note beforehand: This is one of the only places I've been in with a dedicated smoking section beforehand. I didn't notice a smell, probably because people don't smoke as often. But, that is a thing here. Now, the food is great. It is truly home-style Southern cooking. They have a pretty diverse menu with everything from their famous burgers to red beans and rice with connecuh sausage. You won't be getting canned baked beans, everything tastes like it was made from scratch, with care. The portion sizes haven't changed, and they are certain to leave you with a full belly. The ambience here is unique, as every inch of the walls are covered with clocks of all shapes and sizes. It's honestly a tourist location just for that fact alone. Bonus: bring a clock for the wall and you get a free slice of pie, and you'll be part of Mobile/Theodore history in a way.

To start, this restaurant has a smoking section that is not well vented and is close to the register. This is a huge negative for anyone who is looking to enjoy the taste of a meal and the overall atmosphere. It is a bit sad because the decor is extremely fascinating with a collection of clocks that could be a room in a museum. The food was decent but nothing exceptional except the french toast which I was encouraged to try. The flavors were terrific. The sausage gravy was also good as well as the biscuits. They did up charged for a small piece of link sausage. Everything else was just normal breakfast. If they'd shut down the smoking, I definitely consider going back.

Awesome little cafe in Mobile, the decor was interesting with a click for every occasion. The food was good but kinda bland and the pancakes were tough. Everything else was good. Better than east a fast food place for breakfast anytime.

Of all the places my granddaughter could have had her 9th birthday party she chose “Time to Eat”! The staff went out to their way to provide us with a fabulous experience! When Emmy walked in the banquet room and saw the balloons and special tablecloths, her mouth fell open and she squealed with joy! The food was delicious! The kids choose chicken fangers and fries ( reasonably priced) and they made them special “pink lemonade”! Everyone had a blast! The adults ordered some fried green tomatoes and a couple of seafood dinners. I look forward to doing this more often! “Take your feet to Time to Eat”

Had dinner her with our large group while traveling through the area. Quirky decor with all the clocks made for a fun atmosphere. All our meals were excellent with generous portions. All the staff were very friendly with excellent service. We had a great time!

Delicious food. You could tell it was fresh. The service was all by highschool kids but they were EXTREMELY helpful and polite. They went above and beyond even when we were, by our own admission, in the wrong. They ask for a tip when you pay at all these types of restaurants now. And I always think, "Why would I tip now? I don't even know if it's gonna be a good experience." Well, this time I went back and tipped. There was a young male that was exceptional even though they were all MORE THAN accommodating. Not to mention that when we left we were actually full. My body felt good. I felt like it was telling me, "Now, that is food. Give me more of that and less of the Golden Arches down the street"
